COFAD gets awarded the contract to support the aquafeed sector development in Uganda

We are pleased to have been awarded the Aquafeed study under the World Bank's PROBLUE program to support aquafeed and fish feed development in Uganda. The COFAD team is pleased to be able to contribute to strengthening the aquaculture sector and farmers in Uganda.

COFAD was awarded the contract and started implementing the nine-month World Bank study “Aquaculture fish feed sector support: analysis of the availability of existing and potential fish feed ingredients and development of potential fish feed formulas for fish farmers in Uganda”. The study, funded under the PROBLUE programme, will aim to address the current issues on the availability of agricultural products and by-products in sufficient quantity and quality for the development of semi-intensive aquaculture under favorable technical and economic production conditions. The COFAD team is looking forward to continue working on the promotion of the aquaculture sector in Uganda following its contribution to the development of the National Aquaculture Strategic Development Plan (NASDP 2023-2030) in 2023.
