Uganda - Cooperation with MAAIF for supporting the aquaculture sector

In close collaboration with the Department of Aquaculture Management and Development of the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries, our team conducted a sector assessment and several stakeholder workshops to capture the status quo of aquaculture in Uganda. In a next step, the national aquaculture strategy and development plan (NADSP 2023-2028) was drafted and validated in a national validation workshop. The NADSP will aim to create a supportive environment to improve strategic coordination, alleviate key constraints, stimulate investments and increase aquaculture production to develop a sustainable industry that will create jobs and supply local/regional markets with quality aquatic products.   Read more
