In the framework of the GIZ project “Support to economic reforms and sustainable economic development in Uzbekistan” the COFAD team provided support to the aquaculture sector in various technical fields. Our technical support to the intensification methods and good aquaculture practices (BAqP) in three regions of Uzbekistan led us to the development and finalisation of a fish diseases and biosecurity manual.

This reference book adapted to the Uzbek context reflects 2 years of veterinary assessment and sampling in the country. The manual has been provided in English and Uzbek with the support of the Universities and Veterinary and Livestock Association.

Furthermore, we completed the capacity strengthening measures (training in various fields and TVET), advisory services for farmers groups in Karakalpakstan and Tashkent region and conducted an aquaculture Value Chain Analysis (VCA) in the Ferghana valley region. Read more
